Mclane High School Discipline Program
Students are expected to:
1. Be in class on time, prepared to work.*
2. Respect school and personal property.
3. Respect all other individuals.
4. Respect the learning process without disruption.
Infractions against the above will result in:
First offense: Student is warned by the teacher in a brief student / teacher conference. The teacher has the option of assihning teacher directed detention.
Second offense: The student is informed of the infraction. The parent must be notified; if the teacher cannot reach the parent by phone, he or she may use the Parent Notification form available for this purpose. The teacher has the option of assigning teacher directed detention.
Third offense: The student is referred to his / her counselor. The counselor notifies the parent.
Fourth offense: The student is referred to the vp who arranges a parent conference with the student, the teacher, and the parent.
Fifth offense: The student is withdrawn from the class with a W / F, or the teacher has the option of recommending an alternate course of action.
The duration of this procedure is one- 1 semester. Students may not be placed at the next step until all componentsof preceding step have been met.
*For homework assignments, this process may begin at the third missed homework assignment. In P. E. classes, this process may begin at the third non-dress.
